A force for progressive social change, Hawai`i People's Fund supports passionate, often alternative voices, giving them the ability to be heard. Grants from Hawai`i People's Fund help those on the frontlines of social change focus on the work that they believe in.
Whether it is the poetically-slamming voices of Youth Speaks Hawai'i, the organic farming lessons of Ma'o Farms, or the voices of Micronesians United, Hawai'i People's Fund strives to support those who will bring important, often uncommon ways of looking at our world to the forefront.
Founded in 1972, Hawai‘i People's Fund is a publicly supported community fund established to provide grants to progressive grassroots social change organizations working in Hawai‘i. Calling itself " a unique partnership of donors, activist grantmakers and grantees committed to positive social change and a more equitable distribution of wealth, resources and power," Hawai`i Peoples Fund is truly unique in Hawai`i. Hawai‘i People's Fund is one of 16 social change foundations with membership in the Funding Exchange network.
Hawai`i Peoples Fund "invests in changemakers," more often than not giving a leg up to individuals and groups who grow to stand on their own and make a real difference in the community as a whole.
